Looking to Buy a Scooter Jacket?

gas scooter jacket1 Looking to Buy a Scooter Jacket? If you’re in the market to buy a scooter jacket or motorcycle jacket, you’ve got to check out GoGo Gear, a company out of southern California. Fronted by Arlene Battishill, this company is selling uniquely designed scooter jackets unlike anything you’ve seen elsewhere.

They have full armor protection, but they look like high fashion. I am in love with several of the designs and currently saving up my money for one. The  original line is for women, but designs for men are about to be released too.

Personally, I’ve never been that much of a fan of the racing style jackets sold in my local motorcycle stores. At least not enough of a fan to spend a couple hundred bucks (I’m self-employed and the wife of a teacher, so I don’t spend money easily.)

But as soon as I saw GoGo Gear’s jackets, I knew I had to find a way to get one… hopefully within a few months.

You can get more details about these fine jackets here:

Winter Ride Bonus

Parked at River Pointe Park

Woo hoo! I thought my poor little scooter was down for the count until Spring, but today it was 51 degrees, so I decided to take a ride while I could. OK, then the cold my husband battled all last week hit me like a freight train. So I wasn’t gonna go, but when I went outside to check the mail, it was so nice… and the first sunny day we’ve had in a couple of weeks.

So, I bundled my runny nose self into my scooter gear and went the 2 miles to our local river path. In Boise, we have 25 miles of paved path along the Boise River. A real local treasure. I live within walking distance (about a 10 minute walk), which is great, but today, I thought I’d ride my little scooter over to it.

Now, 50 degrees and sunny is a lot warmer when you’re walking out to the mailbox than it is when you’re riding. Still, I enjoyed the chance to be out on my scoot. It’s been several weeks of wet, snowy, rainy weather, and I missed it!

From the river, I can see the beautiful wintry, woods, tons of ducks and geese and our snow-covered foothills. I live in a beautiful area and the scooter allows me to enjoy it in a very different way than the car or truck.

So, thank you universe, for allowing me a brief respite to the awful January we’ve been having so far and getting out on my scooter, even if I am sick and even if I did only ride for 10 minutes!

New Scooter Groups Emerging…

News flash... scootering isn't just for kids. Middle-aged women like me and a few of my recent readers (see below for Jim & Renee) are taking to scooters like never before. I'm getting thousands of visitors to my site every month. Scooters are HOT! Why? Probably lots of reasons, but up there at the top has to be the price of gas. Anyway, the new growth in scooter popularity is giving birth to several new scooter groups... Read the rest of this entry »

Spring Has Finally Sprung in Boise… & The Scooters Are Scootin’!

Spring took a long time to arrive here this year. Or maybe it does every year… this is my first spring here in Boise; I just arrived last summer. Anyway, we had a long, cold, snowy winter… not much fun for us scootin’ folk.

And then the spring just never could quite seem to get here. We’d have a warm day or two… but it was gusting winds of up to 30 or 40 MPH. Again, not much fun for scooting. Then, it would be calm, but the temps would dip down into the 40s again.

Sigh…

But, the last couple of weekends have been glorious! Warm, balmy temps with pretty much low winds. I’ve been out on the scooter as much as my schedule would allow… which isn’t much. But still, a bit of time for riding.

Today, it was in the high 70s so I took a scoot journey at lunch… kind of unheard of for me, but so much fun. Just makes you want to yodel or shriek in joy or something, you know?

Next up, I’m thinking of joining a local scooter club or taking one of the group rides. Anyone have any experience with either of those? Are they worth pursuing?

Oh, and if you haven’t checked out My Scooter Space yet, please do so, as well as my Scooter Store.
